CERN and the Institut de Ciències del Cosmos de la Universitat de Barcelona (ICCUB) will be holding the second edition of a summer school during a one week course dedicated to semiconductor radiation detectors, light detectors and CMOS imagers from fundamental principles to their applications. The course will take place at UB from the 2nd to the 6th July 2018 during Barcelona Techno Week, a series of meeting point events around a technological topic of interest for both academia and industry.
The Barcelona Techno Week 2018 will include multidisciplinary keynote presentations by world experts that are combined with networking activities to foster collaboration among participants. In this edition, the lectures will be complemented with laboratories and there will be a session in which participants from industry will present their products. In addition to laboratory sessions and an industrial exhibition, participants are also encouraged to present their work during the poster sessions.
The meeting is an excellent opportunity for young researchers to meet with senior experts from academia and industry. The event is aimed at researchers, postdocs, PhD students and industry professionals, working in related fields including: particle detectors, astronomy, space, medical imaging, scientific instrumentation, material analysis, neutron imaging, process monitoring and control.
